Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are “in network” providers with most insurance companies. We also bill PPO policies if we are not “in network” providers for your plan. In addition to insurance, we also work with families funded by SARC, Early Start program, as well as private pay. FSA/HSA can be used to cover our services because we are medical providers.

  • Although all cases are unique, we find that nearly all of our speech clients do best in 30 minute sessions. Research shows that 30 minutes is optimal for concentrated attention and learning activities.

  • Our clinic philosophy is based on the premise that communication skills are critical for succeeding in the world. We believe that only seeing one therapist is actually doing a disservice to the client. Clients need to be flexible and able to communicate in at least 3 environments with at least 3 people to consider the skills solid. We start nearly all of our clients with multiple therapists, who together build the best treatment plan possible. We feel that this not only promotes generalization but also provides better service to the client with a team of therapists focusing on a cohesive treatment plan.

  • Our clinic firmly believes that in order for us to achieve the best results with clients displaying sensory regulation issues, it is most efficient to target communication goals in a setting that fosters optimal regulation. When a child is regulated, they are more mindful of their learning and we typically see faster results.

  • Yes! We love to have caregivers collaborate and carry over techniques used in therapy. Every case is unique so please talk to your therapist to figure out the best way to facilitate collaboration.

  • Yes. We need this information to establish a baseline and a treatment plan. Insurance companies may deny services without an initial evaluation on file. If you’ve had a recent evaluation at another clinic, please send us the document so we can see if it will suffice.

  • No. Our assessments are standardized which means that they are normed under highly specific conditions. We make exceptions for young children if they are unable to separate from their parents.

  • Speak to your therapist to discuss your particular case. We require at least a week’s notice to plan for observations. Make sure you submit a written release of information so we can share information. As with any observation, we only allow 1 person observing per session in order to minimize distractions.

  • Absolutely not! Although the practice began as a specialty clinic for kids on the spectrum, we have many therapists who bring talents and specialties in other areas.

  • When you reserve time for you or your child, we are mindful to plan and fully attend to your case. Last minute cancellations do not allow for us to reassign that time to anyone else. We do highly encourage you to make up the session within 2 weeks allowing us to maintain consistency of therapy while waiving the late cancellation fee.

  • Yes! If you leave the clinic for any reason, please alert the front office and make sure you are back 10 minutes prior to the end of your session.
